Lawyering, the big 3-0, and finals.

This weekend was super hectic.  First up was my boyfriend's mock trial in which I played the star witness- I think he looked pretty good doing his lawyering:

Unfortunately, he lost.  Not because he wasn't the better party, not because the case was slanted against him, but because one crazy juror just steam-rolled over all the other jurors until the agreed with her.  But that's real life.  The same thing happened to me in my trial.  Jurors are a complete crap shoot.  God help you if you ever have to be judged by a jury of your peers because you are in some serious trouble.  If the facts are on your side, go for bench trial.

Other than that, we had a great big birthday bash for a good friend of ours from law school.  It was his 30th birthday and he was going for it in style.  He had an open bar for his friends at club50 in the Viceroy, which is actually a rather impressive sight.  It's on the 50th floor of the hotel and towers above all of the other buildings in Brickell.

Hopefully I will have real pictures from the party soon.  Everyone was looking pretty awesome, a last hooray before finals....

Which my boyfriend and I are sick just in time for.

Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Birthdays!

Birthday party was a success.... I had got to have a few intimate moments with Hershey, a shi-poo.  We are having a long term love affair.

He is quite possibly one of the most stylish things I've ever encountered.  Also, he is such a snob sometimes, sitting just out of your reach and making you work for it.  He also stands like a wee ballerina.

We also made it out to the kanye.west x jay.z show at Bank Atlantic Center.  Honestly, it was an absolutely amazing show.  If you have an opportunity to see it, you must.  The set was perfect for them.   Especially the giant cubes with sharks and barking dogs.  And they played practically every song you wanted to hear; as well their new "watch the throne" collaboration in its entirety.

Perhaps the best part of the show was Kanye West's leather shirt he wore throughout the show.

birfday prezzies

Today I went out shopping for a present for my boyfriend's little sister.  We will be celebrating her birthday this weekend in Ft. Lauderdale at Bistro Mezzaluna.

Shopping was an experience... the Gap looks like bouclĂ© sweater threw up all over the store.  But I've never liked the Gap.  The only decent thing going for them was their children's collection by Stella McCartney, and needless to say, I didn't fit into any of that.

I was pleasantly surprised by all of the sparkles at Express:

I'm like a tacky raccoon sometimes, I swear.

Anyway, I dragged myself over to the homegoods/tj maxx that just opened over by dadeland on advice of my good friend.  While there were loads of things I enjoyed, there was nothing I could use as a present for Alexandra.

I did find this HILARIOUS giant flamingo though:
and he could be yours for a cool $124!

Alternatively,

It took all my self-discipline not to purchase this absurd peeg.

Finally, these earrings at Macy's reminded me of Minka:

Okay, so now onto the presents I ended up getting.  I made a little gift box with:

a sketch I made myself:

(Cartoon Audrey)

And a scarf I picked up at J.Crew but cannot find online:

you can see the scarf in the gift box I put together.

Finally, the gift box and the card:

Papyrus:

You should probably feel sorry for the MAC workers today at Dadeland:

I think it's supposed to be a snow globe...

Ready for dinner and drinks:
