An Assumption that Drives me Nuts?

That petite girls can't be curvy.  I have long found myself with two fit options: Either it fits across my 32D chest and fits nowhere else, OR it fits in the shoulders and doesn't even come close to buttoning across my boobs.

What gives, designers?

Well, I know what gives.   Most petite girls must not be, or they'd make more options available since they would sell.

I'm always on the hunt for designers who accommodate my frame, and Shoshanna has to be one of my faves.

http://shoshanna.com/about.php

She designs specifically by bra size- so if you are a small with a large chest, or vice versa, she has something to accommodate you.  check out her about and her designs!

"I found that there were not any wearable, beautiful clothes out there for someone with my body type. I could never find a halter dress or strapless top that offered support for women who usually need to wear a bra. That experience inspired me to create the pieces that make up the core of my collection."
To ensure the best fit, tops are sized similarly to bras—based on both back size and cup size—and available in Petite/Small A-DD or Medium/Large A-DDD accordingly.

Let the Wild Rumpus Begin!

My two good friends, Chris and Laura, are having a baby boy.  Laura's favorite childhood book is Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are."  In honor of that, I have been working on some "wild things."

Here's a sneak preview:

DVF v. Banana Republic

I fell in love with this Diane Von Furstenberg dress... but it was a little above my paygrade for a dress on a whim. [$465]

So I found this banana republic alternative [$130]:

Pretty comparable, I think, despite being off white.  Both dresses also come in black.

In other news, my babies are adjusting to life in boca nicely.  they have their own room here, haha, thank god.  I couldn't deal with Laila's mewing in the morning much longer.

The cats are adjusting well to their new life in Boca.  Here they have their own room.  Thank god.  I can't handle Laila's morning mewing one more day.

Retro Fun

Coney Island, where my roots lie, circa 1988:

Also, my macbook pro shit the bed.  I just got my new one today.  Super thrilled to do some data transfer later.  At least it wasn't the hard drive, just the logic board.

Bracelts

Apparently, I have discovered, I was years ahead of my time in high school when I used to wear entirely too many bracelets.  I thought that was just a terrible fashion faux paus for the longest time.  Now it's super trendy.  haha.

I tried to find evidence of my doing it, but I've managed to destroy most of those photos over the years.

Productive Week

Beached, ate all the good food in Miami, and hung out with my beeestie.  Now he's back to new york city again :(  But!  it was nice to catch him twice in four months, haha.

btw, never go to the bar called "the bar" in coral gables.  ever.  seriously.  don't do it.  what a bunch of jerks.  I got pulled outside by my friends and separated from my boyfriend.  He had opened a tab, but when he noticed I was missing, he came to find me.  However, he hadn't closed his tab first.  They wouldn't let us back in to close the tab and told us to get in the back of the line. when we finally managed to get inside, they had lost his credit card.  Terrible people who run their business in a great way to lose customers.  It's not even like they're some hot shit club on South Beach that can pull that nonsense.  They're just some dingy bar in Coral Gables that is dead 6/7 nights of the week.  Get over yourselves, for serious.
